In order to keep the substance in the pipe at the correct temperature, polyurethane foam (PUF) insulation coatings are commonly used for thermal oil transfer lines as well as for district heating and cooling. After spraying a PU foam layer on the surface of the pipe, the pipe is given additional mechanical protection by wrapping a PE layer around the outer surface.The PU foam layer can be added to the heating conductor or to the detection conductor.

Steel Pipe Foam Insulation Equipment

PU thermal insulation pipes offer low thermal conductivity, good bending properties, high mechanical resistance and waterproof characteristics. Combined with an anticorrosion layer, polyurethanes can be solid, foam (PUF), syntactic (SPU), or glass syntactic (GSPU), and are applied by injection moulding, rotational casting or by PU half-shells. They are suitable for offshore field joint coating operations and reeling, J-lay and S-lay installations.
