External FBE Coating Equipment

Fusion bonded epoxy (FBE) coatings are used to protect pipeline surfaces from corrosion, and double or even triple layers of FBE can improve abrasion resistance and UV resistance. In addition, FBE coatings are coated with adhesives and PE/PP coatings to form 3PE/PP coatings. The production line equipment can be adapted to the production of steel pipes up to 5000 mm. Electrostatic epoxy powder is usually sprayed onto the pipe at a temperature of around 180 - 230°C. The powder is applied to the pipe by heating it. The epoxy powder melts and forms a uniform epoxy coating on the pipe when heated on the surface of the pipe.

External 3PE/3PP Coating Equipment

3PE coatings are in addition to the corrosion protection of FBE coatings and can be used to add mechanical protection by applying a polyethylene (PE) or polypropylene (PP) layer. The adhesive layer is responsible for the bonding between the FBE and PE / PP layers. The line equipment can be adapted to the production of steel pipes up to 3048 mm. PE / PP pellets are extruded onto the through pipe to form a solid coating. Lateral extrusion is the usual method, in which a layer of PE / PP is wound onto the pipe. For smaller pipe diameters, a so-called wrapping process is often used.

Internal FBE Coating Equipment
